down with dreamweaver

There has to be a better application out there for building websites. Dreamweaver is the worst. It is way too complex and is user-"unfriendly". I have been messing around with it for two weeks and I still can't figure it out. Does Microsoft have a website designer application? because if it does I would rather use that.

The thing that irks me the most about dreamweaver is how slow it is. When you re size anything, (i.e. image, text, borders) it takes a long time. It doesn't inconvenience me, it is just asinine.

The other thing I hate is how complicated it is to use. Why can you just add text boxes or images with the same ease as PowerPoint. It would cut my production time in half.

This has been a fun class but I won't miss dreamweaver.

Microsoft does have a website publisher and its called Frontpage. I used to for my website and it is a very easy program to use for a first-timer. It is like powerpoint where you have free control of where you want your boxes and other things to be so you can do whatever you want to it. The good thing about dreamweaver is that it has the extra features a lot of people need to make their website pretty much amazing looking. There are a lot of things you cant do in frontpage where you can in dreamweaver and thats why i believe we were taught to use it.

"Dreamweaver is an amazing program. Look at the code when you are programing, imagine having to do that, now that would be a nightmare. I recommend going online and looking at the videos for help, or buying the resource book." -Matt Dall

Yea I think Dreamweaver kinda sucked too, but I don't think its necessarily "user-unfriendly" but "if you don't know shit about making a website-unfriendly" which of course doesn't make it any better on us. I found that after Rachel told us about frames things became a little easier, but if she wouldn't have told us about that I would have been screwed and cried a couple times this quarter. I personally think we should have used some dummy web design program instead but...guess it doesn't matter now
